These first 2 pictures, fig 1
& 2, show the bearing ring/upper mount and
fitment of the B+G coilover spring
cap on a 2001 Civic.

After my friend received his
set of B+G coilovers for his 2001 civic (pics above),
I noticed the spring cap fit
perfectly over his bearing ring/upper mount. Below,
fig 3 and 4, show the newly designed
bearing ring/upper mount Honda made for
the 2002+ civics. (I confirmed
that the 2003 bearing ring looks like this also)

As you see in fig 4 and 5, the
spring cap does not sit flush over the newer bearing
ring, which puts all the supported
weight on the very thin center of the ring rather than
being spread out over all the
contact area available.

I bring this to your attention
in hopes that R&D can redesign the perch to accomodate
the newer civics.
